A Grand Day Out!

Several of us enjoyed a wonderful visit today, to Impington Mill & Gardens, near Cambridge UK as the guests of Pippa & Steve Temple, the property owners. We could not have been made to feel more welcome and were quite inspired by the work that has been undertaken over the past 11 years, not only to renovate this ancient windmill, but to develop the gardens into a lovely area to browse, be seated and reflect on the beauty of this local site.
The project is very much a labour of love as well as an ongoing scheme and preserves local heritage for the benefit of the village, it's residents and visitors alike.
If you are in the area and wish to visit the mill and gardens, either by appointment or on an open day, please click here for further information where you will also find details of the mill's history, along with some fascinating photographs.
We also enjoyed a lunch at The Boot in Histon and walked off a few calories by following the pathway from Histon village to The WI Woods, which was planted by Members of the Cambridge Federation in 1994, to celebrate it's 75th Anniversary.

We wish to express our grateful thanks to Pippa and Steve for welcoming us into their beautiful world!

Here are some photographs and a video as a record of our visit.
