MILTON WI

WELCOME! You have reached the information pages for the
Women's Institute for Milton, near Cambridge UK.

Here you will find dates of our Monthly Meetings, most of which include guest speakers. We also offer a wide choice of planned activities such as lunches, walks, darts, an annual summer outing, cinema or theatre visits, bowls and more. Take a look, you may be really surprised!

There has been a WI in Milton for many years - we celebrated our 90th birthday in 2015 - and members, past and present, have contributed much to our local community. We are very keen to welcome new friends of all ages to our Monthly Meetings!

In addition, details of a broad range of events, outings and day schools organised by the Cambridge Federation of Women's Institutes are always on display at our Monthly Meetings.

For general information on the WI, click here for a link to the National Federation of Women's Institutes where you will also find details of courses available at Denman College. This is the WI's home of creativity in Oxfordshire and offers over 600 courses – either residential or day schools - which are open to all
WI members and non-members, men and women, and students of all ages.

Have you ever thought..."why should I join the WI?" Well, just click on the titles below or better still, come along as a guest to one of our meetings...you will be most welcome!

We welcomed several new guests!

Our latest members meeting was held on Tuesday 20 September,

This was the first meeting of our new "term" and we provided news of lots of great activities in the pipeline............. just bookmark this website and keep an eye on "Planned Activities" as new dates are slotted into our programme as they are confirmed.

Our guest speaker on 20th is an excellent Cambridge professional photographer, Ann Miles, who spoke about "The Demise of British Seaside Towns" and showed us a wide variety of past and her own updated views of a number of seaside towns. To view her work, here is a link to her own website.

There was plenty of time to catch up with members after our summer break, and it was lovely to welcome new faces, a few of whom decided to join on the night.

Also NEW from this month, we set up a table of "What's On" in and around Cambridge. This will be an extra monthly resource for our members, who can look through a variety of other local events that we have come across- films, talks, concerts etc. These may not result in a group visit organised by Milton WI, but will serve as an extra to those members who wish to book themselves in!

Our membership numbers are growing all the time and guests of all ages are welcome to come along and see if we have something to offer you, you will be very welcome!

Scroll down this page to see what we have been up to in recent months.
