MILTON WI

WELCOME! You have reached the information pages for the
Women's Institute for Milton, near Cambridge UK.

Here you will find dates of our Monthly Meetings, most of which include guest speakers. We also offer a wide choice of planned activities such as lunches, walks, darts, an annual summer outing, cinema or theatre visits, bowls and more. Take a look, you may be really surprised!

There has been a WI in Milton for many years - we celebrated our 90th birthday in 2015 - and members, past and present, have contributed much to our local community. We are very keen to welcome new friends of all ages to our Monthly Meetings!

In addition, details of a broad range of events, outings and day schools organised by the Cambridge Federation of Women's Institutes are always on display at our Monthly Meetings.

For general information on the WI, click here for a link to the National Federation of Women's Institutes where you will also find details of courses available at Denman College. This is the WI's home of creativity in Oxfordshire and offers over 600 courses – either residential or day schools - which are open to all
WI members and non-members, men and women, and students of all ages.

Have you ever thought..."why should I join the WI?" Well, just click on the titles below or better still, come along as a guest to one of our meetings...you will be most welcome!

Milton Members visit the London site for the 2012 Olympics

Several of our Members have joined in a guided tour, kindly organised by Cambridge CFWI to view a variety of venues for the 2012 Olympics. The Olympic stadium at Stratford, the Velodrome, the Swimming Centre and the partially completed landmark sculpture by Anish Kapoor are all visible from a viewing platform that you can walk to, next to Pudding Mill Lane station, on the Docklands Light Railway. The site and infrastructure is still very much under construction, but in time, when the landscaping is complete and the games will commence, it will be wonderful to see everything completed and London will be very much a focus of the world media and fans everywhere.
