Our guided tour of Bury St. Edmunds 10 May 2011

Twelve of our members enjoyed a warm, sunny day in Bury St Edmunds, guided around the grounds of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by Dee, our Green Badge Guide. Dee provided us with a great deal of information about the important history of Bury and the Cathedral and it's relationship with the townsfolk. We walked through the stunning gardens, often prizewinners of "The Best in Bloom" and visited the grounds to the rear of the Cathedral, where we could view the extent of the original site and the ruins still to be found there. Here are photographs and a brief video of our visit. For more information on Bury St Edmunds and it's surrounding area, here is a link to the Tourist Office in the town.
